25% surge in wages approved by Punjab cabinet

The Punjab Cabinet has given a go-ahead for a 25 percent special allowance for more than 0.721 million provincial workers of Grades 1 to 19 effective from 1 June 2021.  It also gave approval for Rs. 7.10 billion for zero cost medical services for the people living in the DG Khan and Sahiwal region with the initial phase of the Universal Health Insurance Program

The provincial Chief Minister (CM), Sardar Usman Buzdar, who presided the meeting, stated that free medical facilities up to Rs 0.72 million will be offered by December 2021. Furthermore, the guidelines were issued for the application of COVID-19 vaccines

The Punjab government chiefly gave approval to provide financial aid to the rain-hit regions Hafizabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, and other areas.

Futhermore, the cabinet gave approval for an alteration to the Punjab Board of Revenue Act, 1957 to permit early decisions on revenue cases by taking out the right of a second review request in such cases.
