A tragic incident involving the rape and subsequent brutal head-crushing death of Adan, a 9-year-old student at a nearby primary school, was reported in Bhara Kahu, Islamabad, on Sunday.
The police have filed a case against the offender, who has been recognized as Hamza and are looking for him.
This heinous crime has been brought to the attention of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Human Rights. Law enforcement organizations have been tasked with looking into the incident and submitting a report at the request of the committee’s chair, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto.
Dr. Bhutto emphasized that this heinous murder, which came after a young girl was raped, is a blatant breach of human rights and demands harsh condemnation. She demanded that the perpetrators be brought to justice and exhorted the media and civil society to play a proactive role in curbing such crimes. She offered the victim’s family her condolences and reassured them that justice would soon be done.
