As the second semi-final of the Champions Trophy takes place in Lahore, authorities have reinforced security measures to ensure a safe environment for players and spectators.

Similar to previous matches, a foolproof security plan is in effect. Over 12,201 police officers and personnel have been deployed across the city to maintain order, according to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran. Senior officials, including the SSP Operations, SSP Security, and all SPs, will oversee operations in the field.

Given the expected large crowd, additional security challenges are anticipated. The four-tier security plan will be strictly implemented, with 12 SPs, 37 DSPs, and 86 inspectors assigned specific duties. A team of 245 female officers will also be on duty to ensure smooth security checks for women attendees.

To monitor all movement, Safe City cameras and plainclothes officers will provide continuous surveillance. Additionally, 33 Elite Force teams along with 71 Dolphin and PRU teams will conduct patrolling in and around the venue. Snipers will also be positioned on high-rise buildings along the route to enhance security, DIG Faisal Kamran confirmed.

With these extensive security measures in place, authorities aim to ensure a safe and secure environment for the much-anticipated semi-final clash.
