Apple CEO confirms M4 MacBook Air launch date!

Apple CEO Tim Cook has strongly hinted at the imminent release of a new MacBook Air powered by the M4 chip.

In a cryptic tweet, Cook wrote, “There’s something in the AIR,” alongside a short teaser video highlighting the word “AIR.”

This subtle yet exciting nod is reminiscent of Steve Jobs’ legendary unveiling of the original MacBook Air back in 2008.

What to expect from the M4 MacBook Air

Cook’s announcement aligns with recent reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who revealed that Apple is set to introduce the new MacBook Air sometime this week.

The M4 chip is expected to deliver significant performance and efficiency improvements over the current M3 chip. Potential upgrades include:

  • More Power – The M4 chip may feature two additional CPU cores and faster memory bandwidth, enhancing overall speed and responsiveness.
  • Higher RAM Capacity – Apple might increase the maximum RAM from 24GB to 32GB, making multitasking and high-performance applications smoother.
  • Upgraded Camera – The 12MP Center Stage camera (already seen in recent MacBook Pro and iMac models) could be introduced, providing better video call quality.

Same design, more power

While the MacBook Air’s external design is unlikely to change, the M4 model will likely retain its 13-inch and 15-inch size options. Apple appears focused on internal upgrades rather than a major design overhaul.

Meanwhile, there are whispers about a new iPad Air, but it may not launch as soon as the M4 MacBook Air. Some speculation has also emerged about an “iPhone 17 Air,” but that device isn’t expected until later in the year.

Apple fans won’t have to wait long—the new MacBook Air is expected to drop this week!
