Former actress Sana Khan, who left the entertainment industry to embrace a spiritual path, is facing backlash after a viral clip from her upcoming YouTube podcast episode surfaced online.
The video shows Sana insisting that guest Sambhavna Seth wear a dupatta and burqa, which has ignited a heated debate on social media.
Sana Khan recently launched a Ramadan-themed podcast featuring industry friends discussing their spiritual experiences. In an upcoming episode, reality TV star Sambhavna Seth appears as a guest. However, a behind-the-scenes vlog shared by Sambhavna has caused an uproar.
In the viral clip, Sana is heard saying, “Tere paas ek acchi salwar kameez nahi hai… thappad chahiye? Where is your dupatta? Burqa laao… Sambhavna ko burqa pehnao.”
Sambhavna, taken aback, responded by explaining that she has gained weight and her clothes don’t fit well. She added, “People will focus on what we say, not on our clothes. People will love us for who we are.”
Many netizens found Sana’s remarks inappropriate and accused her of imposing her personal beliefs on someone from a different faith. One user wrote, “Sana was wrong and rude here… You can’t force anyone to dress a certain way.” Another commented, “Sambhavna is not Muslim. Sana should not dictate what she should wear. Forcing someone is against Islam itself.”
While some defended Sana, arguing that she was joking, others criticized her for setting an example that contradicts the values of personal freedom and choice.
Sana Khan, who gained fame through Bollywood and reality TV, quit acting in 2020 before marrying Mufti Anas. She also removed all her social media posts related to her past career. Meanwhile, Sambhavna Seth, a well-known reality TV star, has been a part of Bigg Boss 2, Khatron Ke Khiladi 4, and several dance shows. As the debate continues, Sana Khan has not yet addressed the controversy.
