Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s head coach has said that even though Pakistan was number 1 in T20I, the team was already on a decline as he took over.

According to his explanation, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan’s performances were the main contributors to the poor performance of Pakistani team.

”Pakistan were No.1 but if you recall the time I took over they were already on a losing streak. They lost in South Africa and one T20I against England” said Misbah

He added “The sort of cricket we are playing right now is exactly what we are looking at. Especially in T20 cricket, there were questions about not having enough firepower and not matching the level of cricket being played in the world. But scoring 190 plus twice against England in English conditions is a sign that we are heading in the right direction”

From January 2018, Pakistan stood at the rank of number 1 in T20I but now they have come down to being number 4.

“Our overall vision is to go towards youngsters, get long-term solutions, develop our team for a longer period of time, get the right resources and invest in them”, Misbah said while talking about young fast bowlers.
