Kim Kardashian West is considered as one of the most famous and followed Instagram celebrity. She won’t be posting to her Instagram and Facebook for a day in protest against Facebook.

She recently told her plans in tweet about freezing her Instagram and Facebook account as it is not possible for her to “sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation.”

Kim Kardashian has joined hands with Stop hate for profit; a union committed to hold social media companies “accountable for hate on their platforms.”

Some other celebrities will also be joining including Kate Hudson and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Kim took it to her twitter and said: I love that I can connect directly with you through Instagram and Facebook, but I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation – created by groups to sow division and split America apart”.

She wants other people to join this protest as well, “Please join me tomorrow when I will be “freezing” my Instagram and FB account to tell Facebook to #StopHateForProfit

The campaign against Facebook has led big companies like Coca Cola, Microsoft and Starbucks to pull back their ads from the platform.

The union has posted different suggestions for Facebook that might help in reducing the spread of hate and would keep hateful content off the platform.
