Another record set by Shaheen Shah Afridi

With an amazing year when it comes to performance, Shaheen Shah Afridi sets yet another record. By taking 5 wickets for 45 runs, Shaheen has now become the second bowler in cricket history to take 15 wickets in the gap of only 3 matches.

Before Shaheen, this record holder was former fast bowler, Waqar Younis and now Shaheen has become the second one.

Before this match, Shaheen had last played a match in ICC world cup 2019. In that match he had picked 6 wickets for 35 runs. Prior to that, he had taken 4 wickets in against Afghanistan.

Earlier Hasan Ali was Pakistan’s leading wicket taker with 39 wickets in 20 matches.

Now the leading wicket taker is Shaheen with 45 wickets in 20 matches.

Statistician Mazher Arshad wrote on his twitter: “Shaheen Afridi is only the 2nd bowler in ODI history to take 15 wickets in space of 3 matches. First was Waqar Younis. #PakvZim

Yesterday Pakistan had defended as target of 282 against Zimbabwe from which Shaheen had stood at 49/5 .

After this match, Shaheen has not only set a record by becoming the second player to take 15 wickets with 3 matches gap, he has also secured the place for leading bowler in Pakistan.
