PIA to introduce MSS instead of VSS

As the deadline for submitting application is over Pakistan International Airlines has received around 1300 applications from their employees for early retirement as they recently introduced that voluntary separation scheme (VSS). After introducing it, PIA has given the deadline of 22nd December to its employees to submit their applications if the wanted to apply for early retirement.

The expectations of the national flag carrier were a bit different than what they received after the deadline was over. The expectations were of at least some 3000 applications but the resulting number turned out to be not even properly the half of it. As a result of this, PIA is considering to launch the Mandatory separation scheme (MSS) instead.

In contrast to VSS, MSS will have those employees laid off itself by considering those who did not perform well enough. The underperformance of such employees will be reviewed and then accordingly they will be laid off. After being laid off, they will not be given any king od financial or medical assistance by PIA.

Next year starting from January till the mid of the year i.e. June, PIA will be shifting its head office from Karachi to Islamabad in terms of phases.
