As the year is coming to an end, whatsapp is also ending its services or some Iphones and some androids. Whatsapp will stop working on those IOS and Android smartphones which are basically working on old operating system. The phones will at least have to be working on IOS9 or android 4.0.3.
Whatsapp support page has warned the users that if they want to continue enjoying the services of whatsapp they need to update to the latest versions of operating system, if they are iPhone users, they need to update to IOS9 and if they are android users then the software needs to be updated to 4.0.3.
Although there are not much smartphones working on these much old operating softwares but since the user range of whatsapp is so large, there will still be plenty of users with these operating systems.
Apple users uptop iPhone 4 will lose whatsapp support next year. These might include, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and 5S, iPhone 6 and 6S. these users will have to update their software to IOS9 in order to continue using whatsapp services on their phones.
Altough the android software are quite updated now but some devices still do run on software below 4.0.3. some of these might include LG optimus black, HTC desire, Samsung Galaxy S2.
