As stated by the Interior Minster Sheikh Rasheed, Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s passport will expire as of tonight.
Sheikh Rasheed was talking at a news conference where he stated that as a rule, the individual whose name is on the ECL cannot be allotted a new passport nor can his current passport be reintroduced.
On the other hand, Rasheed mentioned that if the previous prime minister wanted to come back to Pakistan, approval will be established for him within the time span of 72 hours.
He said: “No one is stopping Nawaz Sharif from returning to Pakistan,”
He talked in a critique manner regarding the former prime minister for taking “unfair advantage” of the high court’s judgment to let him go for medical treatment overseas.
Rasheed said that Sharif had “deceived” every person by stating that it was required for him to go out of the country for health treatment but it doesn’t seem like any treatment has been sought.
The interior minister, nevertheless, confessed that he was amongst the ones in the cabinet who supported in favor of allowing Sharif go out of the country to look for medical treatment..
“I won’t lie, I was among those who voted for him to be allowed to fly abroad,” he stated
