Sindh Police seeks FIA’s help to recover “hacked twitter “account

The Sindh Police has written a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Wing looking for its assistance in recovering its “hacked” Twitter account.

The task director of Sindh Police’s Information & Technology department in their message to the FIA “requested to please take legal action against the hacker”.

“Sindh Police DMC [Digital Media Cell] official Twitter account i.e. @sindhpolicedmc has been hacked and edited with a new name i.e. sindhpolicedmc8 and being operated by an unauthorised anonymous person,” it was mentioned in the letter.

“Sindh Police cannot change anything in this account and also unable to log in, the details of Sindh Police DMC email’s conversation with Twitter is enclosed,” it further read.

The official twitter handle @sindhpolicedmc8 has quite over 42,400 followers, at the time when the account hacking was informed. It is following 42 other accounts but no strange action was seen.

Sindh Police, whereas, also made a new Twitter account with the title @DMCSindhPolice, which has 18 followers and follow back 41 accounts.
