The third wave of the coronavirus is currently causing serious distress in Pakistan as the coronavirus positivity rate has crossed the ratio of 11% on Monday.
The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) informed that 40,369 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and from which 4,525 were marked to be positive, making the countrywide positivity percentage 11.21%.
The new cases brought up the national tally of positive COVID-19 cases to 659,116.
From these 264,889 have been testified in Sindh, 215,227 in Punjab, 85,531 in KP, 56,450 in Islamabad 19,525 in Balochistan, 12,484 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 5,010 in Gilgit Baltistan.
The sum of current COVID-19 cases in Pakistan is 46,663 whereas 598,197 have defeated the virus.
Pakistan also recounted 41 deaths to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours out of which majority number of deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The recent deaths took the national death sum to 14,256. From this total, 6,246 deaths occurred in Punjab, 4,491 in Sindh, 2,301 in KP, 561 in federal capital, 206 in Balochistan, 348 in AJK and 103 in GB.
