Prime Minister Imran Khan stated today that Muslim countries should put collective efforts to defeat Islamophobia, explaining this would be more operative than holding demonstrations in the country.

The prime minister’s speech to the public emerged a day after more than 12 police officers were taken captive by the followers of a banned party in Lahore.

While addressing the nation, PM Imran Khan reminded the public that Pakistan was made on the ideologies of Islam. He emphasized that the government has the same views and opinions with the TLP in regard to the defense of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s honor; nevertheless, banishing the ambassador of France is not the answer to defeat Islamophobia.

“The West has made this an issue of freedom of speech and if we send back the French ambassador, some other European country will follow suit,” PM Imran Khan stated.

“The government has been negotiating with the TLP for the last two-and-a-half months, I know the West better than anyone else, so I know how to deal with the problem too,” the PM added.
