Nevertheless, the heartfelt note had instantly backfired as critics gathered to call him out for mentioning that the supermodel is self-made, when her influential parents allegedly helped her get a lift in the industry.
“What the 20 things that you did not know about Gigi Hadid? 1. Self Made… never took a single Dollar from her parents,” he mentioned in the birthday post.
Many social media users were annoyed by the remarks as they made clear how Gigi was born into money and opportunity and used nepotism to hike the ladder at a quick speed.
