The internet had been appreciating Prime Minister Imran Khan for firmly negating the US right to use Pakistani land for any kind of action inside Afghanistan while at the same time the internet is furious at him for once again putting the women at blame for getting rape.
In a clip from his interview on HBO which came out yesterday and shared on Saturday on Axios‘ website, journalist Jonathan Swan puts forward his question about PM remarks on what women wear leading to an effect on the lure that results in rapes, he responded says, “If a woman is wearing very few clothes, it will have an impact on the men, unless they’re robots. I mean it is common sense.”
Upon this response the interviewer got confused an asked another question in regard to the matter, “But is it really going to provoke acts of sexual violence?” to which Imran Khan responded with, “It depends on which society you live in.”
He further said, “If in a society people haven’t seen that sort of thing, it will have an impact [on them]. Growing up in a society like yours, maybe it won’t impact you. This cultural imperialism… Whatever is in our culture must be acceptable to everyone else.”
