The provincial Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) Department has extended the winter break for students until 28 February due to the unpredictably bad weather affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) cold regions.
These regions include North Waziristan, Khyber, Buner, Dir, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla Par, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, and Swat.
The announcement was made in a notice issued by the Provincial Secretary of the ESE Department, which stated that both public and private institutions will continue to observe winter holidays up until the stated date. The first of March will see the return of regular school activities.
The choice is made as the area continues to experience chilly westerly winds and wintry showers. Since the decision ensures the security and well-being of both students and staff, it has received praise from both students and parents.
