Bilal Afzal, the interim Punjab caretaker minister for communications, works, and excise, declared On Thursday, that the Kalma Chowk underpass would open to traffic on March 23, Pakistan Day.
A media report claims that the minister made this announcement while presiding over a meeting to review the Punjab CBD Boulevard and Underpass projects.
Imran Amin, the Lahore Central Business District Authority’s (CBD) CEO, and Riaz Hussain, its chief engineer, gave the minister an update on the status of the project. According to Afzal, this project must meet all international safety standards.
In such a large construction project, he praised the absence of accidents and problems with quality control. Bilal Afzal then reviewed the site’s construction activity and gave the necessary officers instructions to ensure a harmonious working environment for the project’s speedy completion.
He urged the NESPAK representatives to remove any obstacles standing in the way of achieving the stated goals and to offer all assistance they could.
The Ali Zeb Road underpass excavation is scheduled to be finished by March 19 and the road will be plastered on March 20, according to information provided to the provincial minister during an earlier briefing. According to the minister’s sources, the project would be completed by march 23 by making every possible effort.
