After drinking poisonous water, around twenty female students at a government school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)’s Karak district collapsed.

According to early reports, a toxic substance inadvertently found its way into the water tank of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Jandri, making the water unsafe to drink.

The student’s health conditions deteriorated as a result of ingesting the contaminated water, and they were subsequently taken to a hospital. Thankfully, medical reports state that the affected girls’ condition is no longer life-threatening.

To identify the type of toxic substance, the school administration quickly took a sample of water for laboratory testing. After the investigation, more information will be made available.

When Deputy Commissioner Karak Ahmad Zeib learned of the incident, he gave the order to Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Karak Younis Khan and Additional Assistant Commissioner One Karak Shamimullah to visit the scene and evaluate the situation.

Approximately 20 girls received immediate first aid from Rescue 1122, which responded quickly to the incident, and were then taken to the hospital at the district administrative center. The majority of the girls are being released after stabilizing their conditions.

According to the hospital administration’s report, 95% of the patients with gastrointestinal problems had stable symptoms at the time of examination.

Under the direction of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, DC Karak has established an inquiry committee to conduct a thorough investigation and produce a thorough report. The committee will carefully review every element of the incident.
