The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has recently added a new requirement for individuals travelling internationally.

According to the order, the Administration of all airlines must check each passenger’s polio vaccination card before takeoff.

All airports and airlines are required to follow the directive, and travellers are suggested to check their polio vaccination records are current before setting out on their international travels. Travellers must have valid and up-to-date online polio cards when flying abroad.

Additionally, NADRA emphasises that after their current polio vaccination cards expire, travellers should get new ones. This action aims to support initiatives to safeguard global health and stop the polio virus from spreading.

In an accompanying move made previously in June, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) eliminated the requirement for passengers travelling to and from Pakistan to show proof of COVID-19 immunisation and results of negative PCR tests.

Additionally, the COVID-19 2% screening requirement that previously applied to travellers coming from the UK, the Gulf, and other nations has also been eliminated.
