Recently, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority announced that media access fees would be implemented at Metro Bus and Orange Line train stations.

According to the recently released guidelines, media organisations that intend on covering these transit hubs must pay a coverage fee, and their authorization to do so will only be granted if the fee is paid.

The Orange Line stations have been divided into three groups by the authority to simplify the process.

Eight stations, all of which fall under Category A, will be charged  Rs. 246,000 each for coverage

The ten stations of Category B will have coverage charges of Rs. 185,000 each.

Likewise, the eight stations coming under category c will have a coverage cost of Rs. 124,000 each.

Additionally, it has been stated that media organisations planning to broadcast the Metro Bus service must pay a reporting fee of Rs. 124,000.

The Punjab Mass Transit Authority is taking this action in an effort to raise money for the upkeep of public transportation.
