Elon Musk ruined Twitter’s app store downloads by renaming it to X.

It was truly appalling how poorly Twitter rebranded as X. The company’s 20-year-old brand name was simply abandoned, and as one might expect, this is hurting its ability to get downloads on app stores.

In plain English, he claims that many people are still unaware of the X rebrand. In this case, if you searched for “Twitter,” the top result would be an advertisement for a rival service like Snapchat, Facebook, or Instagram.

The search result for “X” is worse because it has nothing in common with Twitter. It doesn’t use the original name or make any reference to being the former Twitter. Even the recognisably blue colour is missing, being replaced only by the ugly “X” icon and the uninspired catchphrase “Blaze your glory!”

Not to mention that no one will click on an X icon with a black background despite it looking eerily similar to numerous pornographic websites.

Threads is currently ranked #2 on the App Store’s list of the top free downloads, while “X” is far behind at position #51. Similar to how “X” trails far behind at the less esteemed #66 on the Play Store, Threads ranks at #6. What a load of crap that Threads couldn’t keep up with Twitter!

If the company’s owner wasn’t the “mastermind” behind this rebranding initiative, employees would undoubtedly be fired.
