Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, Made in Pakistan, Seen in Karachi

0

Toyota is finally preparing to introduce its first locally assembled hybrid vehicle in Pakistan after a number of production- and operational-related hiccups.

Recently, a test car for the locally built Corolla Cross Hybrid was spotted in Karachi while wrapped in a black and blue wrap. Despite the silence of Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC), reports from industry observers reportedly indicate that the company has started testing the crossover hybrid SUV on public roads.

Market reports from December 2022 indicated that the company might introduce its first locally built hybrid model in the first half (H1) of 2023. These plans, however, were abandoned due to import and production limitations.

According to a report from July 2023, the company might introduce the Corolla Cross at a later date. Although Toyota IMC hasn’t released any official information, the report makes the assumption that the launch will occur in November 2023.

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid will probably remain a niche product due to its potential high price tag, even with prices set to rise once more due to the ongoing hyperinflation, even though it would be a significant development for the company.
