Samsung announced the official release of its top gaming monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9 57′′, at Gamescom 2023. CES 2023 in January saw the initial unveiling of this enormous monitor.

The impressive 7680 x 2160 VA-type LCD panel on the Odyssey Neo G9 57′′, also known as the G95NC, has a 1000R curvature. As a result, the display has a 32:9 aspect ratio, effectively making it the same size as two 16:9 4K displays put together.

The 57-inch measurement is specifically related to the ultra-wide aspect ratio and should not be directly compared with displays with different aspect ratios, it is important to note.

Enabling this astonishing combination of resolution and refresh rate, the G95NC is equipped with a combination of DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 interfaces. Although the exact bandwidth of these connectors isn’t explicitly specified by Samsung, it’s noteworthy that presently no connector exists that inherently supports such a colossal data transfer rate (exceeding 100Gbps) without the utilization of Display Stream Compression – a capability that this monitor does indeed possess.

Despite not having a modern OLED panel, the G95NC uses mini-LED backlighting in addition to Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Technology. With 2392 local dimming zones and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, this configuration guarantees improved visual fidelity. Additionally, the panel features a matte coating for less glare and a quick 1ms response time (GTG).

In October, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57′′ will go on sale for $2500.
