Iman Mazari, a human rights attorney, was granted post-arrest bail by an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad in a case involving “interference in state affairs,” according to ARY News on Monday.

In a sedition case relating to the contentious speech against the state institutions, the ATC Judge Abu Al-Hasanat Zul-Qarnain presided over the hearing and granted bail to human rights attorney Iman Mazari against surety bonds of Rs30,000.

The court read aloud the text of Iman Mazari’s speech from a rally, which was a major point of contention in the case, during the proceedings.

The prosecution, on the other hand, argued against it, pointing out that the speech’s USB (Universal Serial Bus) report had not yet been received and that a forensic examination of the speech was necessary.

There has been a lot of interest in this case, and as the investigation continues, more developments are anticipated.

Imaan Mazari, a human rights attorney, was earlier sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand by an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad after it rejected a request to extend her physical remand.

Imaan Mazari, a human rights attorney and the daughter of former federal minister Shireen Mazari, was the subject of an ATC hearing regarding interference in state affairs.

Imaan Mazari was brought before the court by the police. The prosecutor informed the court that they tested the accused using photogrammetry and voice matching. The transcripts of her written speeches are expected to be recovered, he continued.

Later, the accused lawyer’s request for an extension of her physical remand was denied by the court, and she was instead placed on judicial remand and taken to the Adiala Jail.
