A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolts parts of KP.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre reports that a 5.2-magnitude earthquake shook some of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday morning.

According to the centre, tremors started at 9:35 am, with the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan serving as the epicentre. The epicentre added that the earthquake was 184 kilometres deep.

The earthquake’s magnitude was 4.8, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), which measures magnitude using the Moment Magnitude scale, and its epicentre was located 47 kilometres (km) east of the Afghan city of Farkhar.

There have been no reported losses of life or property so far.

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake that hit parts of Punjab and KP earlier this month. There were tremors felt in the northern regions of the nation as well as in occupied Kashmir and the capital city of India.
