The Pakistani rupee is taking a record-breaking beating in the currency exchange market as the US dollar keeps rising steadily.

The new trading session began on Wednesday morning with a surge of 70 paisas for the American currency, further shattering records.

It was exchanged for a record amount of Rs303.75 in local money.

However, a short while later, the rupee’s value decreased by 95 paisas in relation to the powerful dollar and, according to currency dealers, reached a record high of Rs304 in interbank trading.

The relentless rise of the dollar against the Pakistani rupee continued on Tuesday as well, hitting new highs on both the interbank and open markets on the second day of the workweek.

In the interbank market, the dollar’s value soared to an all-time high of Rs303. The dollar traded at a historical level of Rs316 on the open market as well.
