More unwanted gifts for the general public have been brought by the most recent fuel price increase. The increase in bus fares is one such gift.
The Orange Line, Blue Line and Green Line Metro bus services will see an increase in fares, according to the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Reputable sources told ProPakistani that the proposal would be discussed at the CDA board meeting. They also stated that the next board meeting would be when the final decision to raise the fares would be made.
According to the sources, it has been suggested that the Green and Blue Line bus fares be raised from Rs. 30 to Rs. 60. The cost of the Orange Line bus will rise from Rs. 60 to Rs. 100, they added.
Under the condition of anonymity, a CDA official claimed that the municipal organisation lacked the resources to operate these buses at subsidised rates. He continued by saying that the Blue, Green and Orange Line bus fares would inevitably rise.
