In the previous 24 hours, the Punjab Emergency Services Department (ESD) reported just under 1,100 traffic collisions. According to the report, 1,097 traffic accidents across Punjab’s 37 districts resulted in 1,130 injuries and five fatalities.
Of these, 595 suffered serious injuries and were treated urgently at several hospitals throughout Punjab. Rescue medical teams treated the remaining 535 victims at the scene of the accident for minor wounds.
A school van caught fire earlier this week in Rawalpindi’s Shah Khalid Colony. A diesel leakage that started the fire quickly spread throughout the van, alarming nearby residents and parents.
Firefighters were working to put out the blaze when rescue teams were called to the scene. The occurrence happened on Old Airport Road.
Fortunately, despite the fire’s intensity, no one was hurt or killed, and both the driver and all of the students escaped the situation unharmed.
