By providing them with interest-free loans to launch big enterprises, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is making ground-breaking efforts to support economic stability for unemployed women. Fazal Muqeem, the Deputy Chief Manager of SBP in Dera Ismail Khan, made the announcement during a one-day seminar on “Women Bankability and Banking on Equality,” which was held at the Government Polytechnic Institute (GPI) for women and hosted by SBP.

Muqeem emphasised that allowing women to start their own enterprises will not only give them more power but also enable them to support their families and give their children access to a high-quality education. Muqeem said that entrepreneurship was an essential remedy for the widespread inflation that was impacting all facets of society, particularly those with little economic resources.

The government has implemented initiatives to turn unemployed women into contributing members of society in partnership with SBP. These initiatives include opening bank accounts for jobless women on an equal basis with men and giving them access to interest-free loans of up to Rs. 0.5 million.

In order to lessen their tax burden, Assistant Director Muhammad Zubair emphasised the value of using digital technology and urged citizens to file income taxes.

Sara Khan, the principal of GPI for Women, thanked SBP for helping to make students independent and emphasised that many women would eventually gain from this strategy. She anticipated that further lectures would keep Dera Ismail Khan’s eligible women informed and empowered.

Muhammad Amir Ejaz, Assistant Chief Manager of SBP Dera Ismail Khan, was among the distinguished visitors who attended the seminar, which emphasised SBP’s dedication to economic development and gender equality. This effort has the potential to build a society that is more inclusive and stable economically.
