Due to a rise in pink eye infections, the Punjab government has issued an alert for all of the province’s schools.
Schools are required by the Schools Education Authority to hold a “zero period” to inform children about the infection and how to limit its spread.
During the zero period, it is requested that the school teachers explain the infection’s causes and preventative actions.
The health department previously released safety regulations to address the sickness earlier in the year.
A warning has been released by Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department as the number of pink eye infections continues to rise in numerous cities throughout the province.
It spread through coughing, sneezing, and touching hands, according to the department, and it took eight to ten days to recover from it.
After the virus spread to numerous cities in Sindh, including Karachi, Lahore saw a spike in the number of people suffering from conjunctivitis, an inflammation of the transparent membrane lining the eyelid and eyeball.
Increased tear production, eye discomfort, redness, and itching were all effects of the infection. It instructed readers to use any eye drop after consulting with a physician.
All district authorities have also received instructions from the Health Department. In addition to advising people not to touch their eyes without first washing their hands, it also suggested using hand sanitizer.
