Lahore’s main city highways are now off-limits to motorcycle riders without helmets. This new regulation was developed to increase road safety for all riders under the direction of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Mustansar Feroze.
On the city’s main thoroughfares, including The Mall (Mall Road), Canal Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg, motorcycle riders in particular are required to wear helmets.
CTO Mustansar emphasised the value of wearing a helmet, particularly on these busy roadways. This law applies to officials and staff members of semi-government organisations as well as to regular individuals. He warned that anyone regularly breaking this regulation would be subject to negligence-related legal consequences.
Additionally, those who repeatedly break the helmet rule will be prosecuted. Shahdara, GT Road, Barki Road, Bedian Road, Raiwind Road, Rohi Nullah, Ferozepur Road, Multan Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Khayaban-e-Jinnah Road, and PECO Road are among the roads that will be monitored and checked.
The security of the populace is Mustansar’s top priority. The city hopes to protect its citizens by enforcing this helmet law and lowering the frequency of traffic accidents.
