Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for household 11.8 kg cylinders have increased by Rs. 246 or roughly 8.6 percent for October as a result of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) raising local LPG prices by Rs. 20.84 per kg.
The regulator increased the price of LPG from Rs. 240 in September to Rs. 261 per kg for October in a notification. A home 11.8 kilogramme cylinder was priced at Rs. 3,079 in October as opposed to Rs. 2,833 in September.
According to OGRA’s calculations, the producer price of LPG (propane 40% and butane 60%) for October is Rs. 181,506 per tonne.
The highest producer price for October was calculated to be Rs. 219,686 per tonne after adding the petroleum levy of Rs. 4,669 per tonne and the 18 percent sales tax of Rs. 33,511 per tonne. Thus, it was determined that the maximum producer price for the residential 11.8 kg cylinder for the current month would be Rs. 2,592 per kg.
The maximum producer price was increased by Rs. 35,000 per tonne for marketing, distribution, and transportation costs, in addition to an additional 18 percent GST (Rs. 6,300 per tonne on this margin) for the consumer price. As a result, the consumer end maximum LPG price for October was set at Rs. 260,986 per tonne (Rs. 3,079 per cylinder of 11.8 kg).
It is important to note that the regulator raised the cost of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs. 39 per kilogramme last month.
