The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which is set to start on October 5 at the venerable Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, will not have an opening ceremony, according to reports in Indian media on Monday.

On October 4, cricket enthusiasts awaited the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023’s opening ceremony at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Following Captains’ Day, which required the presence of all 10 team captains, this major event was scheduled. However, according to Indian media, captains’ day will proceed as planned.

A closing ceremony or one before the eagerly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match is likely.

This breaks with the established convention for big competitions.

The opening match of the event will feature England and New Zealand, the winners of the last championship.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly went above and beyond to ensure that the opening ceremony would be remembered.

Renowned performers like Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, and the iconic Asha Bhosle had to grace the stage, while Bollywood A-listers like Ranveer Singh were scheduled to appear.
