The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) of Pakistan increased the electricity rate for K-Electric consumers on Friday.
For the two months of October and November, NEPRA increased the power tariff for K-Electric customers by Rs 1.49 to Rs 4.45 per unit under the guise of a quarterly adjustment.
The price of electricity would increase by Rs 1.71 per unit as a result of a fuel charge adjustment (FCA) for the month of October 2023, NEPRA stated earlier on Thursday.
This increase in electricity prices is anticipated to have an impact on all consumer categories. The approved tariff increase will be shown individually on consumer invoices.
A separate rise in the power cost of Rs 3.28 per unit due to the FCA (Fuel Charges Adjustment) from October 2023 to March 2024 was approved by NEPRA on October 3.
The tariff increase will appear separately on customer bills and be reflected in billing for October 2023.
