On thousands of acres of desolate territory in the Zarmalan area of South Waziristan, the Pakistani army is getting ready to start agricultural cultivation in an effort to increase agricultural output and promote food self-sufficiency.
A national daily claims that the Pakistani army intends to expand this operation and will turn 41,000 acres of land into arable land. Lieutenant General Sardar Hasan Azhar Hayat, the Corps Commander of Peshawar, discussed the initiative and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to boosting agricultural production in the region.
He added that an agricultural plan has been developed by the Pakistani army for the 41,000 acres of unusable land in the Zarmalan region of South Waziristan. He also discussed how KPK’s resources may be improved by investments in a variety of industries, including hydropower, tourism, agriculture, and mining.
The Corps Commander went on to say that they had worked with the province administration to draw investments into these areas, with fruitful results.
The regional government’s representative called the military forces’ relationship with them “extremely cordial.” He emphasised the military’s assistance in the campaign against illicit activities such as the trafficking of drugs, smuggling, bogus passports, extortion, illegal guns, and unlawful mobile sims.
