Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, has suggested the best days and times for pilgrims to undertake Umrah across the world. These periods offer a more tranquil experience with fewer crowds and nicer weather.
Dr. Al Rabiah stated that the best time for morning Umrah is between 7:30 and 10:30 am, while for evening Umrah, the best time is between 11:00 pm and 2:00 am. These schedules are designed to reduce crowding when pilgrims arrive at Mecca’s Grand Mosque.
Dr. Al Rabiah pointed out Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as the best days to undertake Umrah, emphasising the less congested times. These may be good days for pilgrims who are looking for a more serene and concentrated spiritual experience.
The minister also highlighted how Mecca is now experiencing favourable weather, which makes practicing rituals more comfortable and straightforward overall. In addition to enhancing the physical experience, this climate helps pilgrims choose a setting that is spiritually nourishing.
In a parallel move, Pakistan has declared a large cut of Rs. 0.1 million in government Hajj spending, guaranteeing pilgrims’ unhindered amenities. Every pilgrim will now be given 30 kilogrammes of luggage, and in a new addition, female pilgrims will also receive scarves (Abaya) with the national flag on them.
An exclusive smartphone application has been launched to improve the pilgrimage experience. It provides ongoing connection with appropriate authorities and navigation support. The app will eventually offer a number of regional languages in addition to Urdu and English at launch.
In addition, the government unveiled a 20-day shortened Hajj package with the goal of increasing individuals’ financial accessibility to the pilgrimage. In order to overcome the difficulties caused by the distance to New Mina, efforts are being made to house Pakistani Hujjaj in tents in Old Mina.
