Realme has officially revealed the release date for its forthcoming 12 Pro range of phones after weeks of leaks and teasing. The Redmi series rivals are scheduled to go worldwide on January 29, as revealed by a new teaser poster.
Realme’s launch date poster offers a glimpse of what’s to come with the forthcoming Realme 12 Pro+. The periscope telephoto camera on this model makes it noteworthy. Additionally, the company has reiterated that the remarkable 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 camera will be included in the Realme 12 Pro series. Fans can expect the firm to release more specific details regarding the Realme 12 Pro range in the upcoming weeks as the launch date draws near in two weeks.
There are rumours that the 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens primary camera that powers the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ will be the same. On the other hand, the telephoto department has some noticeable distinctions. The Pro+ model will include an OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, while the 12 Pro will have a 32MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
With support for up to 6x lossless zoom and amazing 120x digital zoom capabilities, the Realme 12 Pro+ goes one step beyond. The 12 Pro will include a 16 MP front camera for taking selfies, but the 12 Pro+ will have a 32 MP selfie camera, which is more powerful.
Different CPUs will power the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+; the former will use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip, while the latter will have the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. It is projected that both smartphones will have a 5,000 mAh battery with remarkable 67W rapid charging capabilities. These versions are anticipated to provide consumers with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage on the global market.
With a 6.7-inch curved-edge AMOLED display that offers FHD+ quality and a seamless 120Hz refresh rate, the Realme 12 Pro series is sure to dazzle. These smartphones, which run Android 14 and the Realme UI 5 operating system, will put security first and have an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The 12 Pro versions will come in eye-catching colour selections, such as Submarine Blue and a tint known as “Navigator,” for aesthetic reasons. To further satisfy consumers’ varied fashion tastes, the Realme 12 Pro+ will get a special Explorer Red variant.
