At a hearing on Tuesday at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, a special court presided over by Judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain rendered a decision.
PTI leader Gohar Khan said on social media that he will be contesting his party’s case on behalf of Imran Khan, who has been detained since August of last year.
Gohar said that he had seen the murder of justice at Adiyala Jail. He bemoaned the fictitious lawsuits brought against the party founder, characterising the legal process as wholly unjust and against the law.
He stated that it is the duty of judges to uphold the bar for openness and justice in trials. Gohar pleaded with the Chief Justice of the IHC to take note and make plans to address the severe decline in the fair hearing issue.
State defence attorneys questioned 12 witnesses on Monday, bringing the total number of witnesses questioned to 25. The defence’s attorneys only questioned four of these witnesses.
