The team captained by Hugh Weibgen set a lofty goal of 254 runs for the scoreboard. With a final score of 253/7, the Kangaroos set a record for the highest-ever total in an U19 World Cup final.
Leading Australia with a solid fifty-five, Harjas Singh was helped along in the 40s by Weibgen, Harry Dixon, and Ollie Peak. Raj Limbani scored 38 runs off three wickets for India.
The Asian team lost four wickets in the first 20 overs of their reply, including important players Sachin Dhas, Uday Saharan, and Musheer Khan.
