Peshawar Zalmi, captained by Babar Azam, made it to the playoffs the previous season but narrowly fell to Lahore Qalandars, the reigning champions, to avoid a trip to the championship game.
It should be mentioned that, after eight PSL seasons, Peshawar Zalmi has the best record, having advanced to four finals and made it to the playoffs each time.
Zalmi, meanwhile, hopes to reclaim the PSL championship after taking home the trophy in 2017. The next season is slated to begin on February 17.
