Luke Ronchi, a former wicketkeeper batsman for New Zealand who is presently the assistant coach for the country, has been contacted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about perhaps coaching the national side.
The media’s coverage of Ronchi follows the PCB’s rejection of coaching offers to Shane Watson, Mike Hesson, and Darren Sammy.
Sammy declined the invitation due to his contractual duties as the head coach of the West Indies board’s white-ball teams, while Watson highlighted his present commitments to coaching and commentary.
Ronchi has asked to take some time to think over the offer before deciding.
It’s important to remember that Ronchi had previously turned down a PCB offer to oversee the national team, which resulted in Bradburn’s appointment.
A coaching panel was recently finalized by the PCB, according to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, in advance of the next five-match Twenty20 International series against New Zealand, which is set to begin on April 18.
Luke Ronchi is an accomplished cricketer who has played in four Tests, eighty-five ODIs, thirty-three T20Is, and for both Australia and New Zealand.
He has played league cricket for a number of clubs, including the Perth Scorchers, Mumbai Indians, Islamabad United, and Guyana Amazon Warriors, in addition to representing his country internationally.
