Pakistanis, facing record inflation, bloated bills, and skyrocketing costs for essential necessities, prepare for another jump in gas prices.

The nation of nearly 240 million people is getting ready for a sharp rise in fuel prices, which might rise by as much as Rs8 per litre starting on Tuesday, April 16.

Following the hike last month, the federal government is anticipated to declare yet another large rise in gas prices as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) persists in advocating for more taxes.

The new price of fuel would reach Rs 298 per litre with the anticipated price increase. Petrol prices are at Rs 289.41 at the moment, up Rs 9.66 from March 31.

After a Rs3.32 decrease, the price of diesel is anticipated to be around Rs282.24.

Since petrol and diesel are mostly used in commercial vehicles that transport food items and agricultural equipment, any future increases in these prices would have a greater impact on inflation.

Every two weeks, fuel prices are adjusted to reflect a variety of factors, including foreign exchange rates and local currency exchange rates.
