Former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte set a unique example of simplicity when he left his post and simply headed home on a bicycle.Mark Rutte’s payment has caused a new storm in the foreign media, on the other hand, the intelligence chief of the Netherlands has taken over the position of the Prime Minister. He rode past dozens of spectators standing on the side of the road.

Former Dutch intelligence chief Deek Schoof was sworn in yesterday as the new prime minister of the country’s right-wing government. Schoof replaces Rutte after 14 years in power, some 223 days after far-right leader Geert Wilders’ victory in an election that stunned Europe and the world.

Rutte will begin his new post on October 1, when the 10-year term of current NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg ends
