Shahid Afridi, the former captain of the national team, has expressed his surprise at the removal of Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee.

According to the details, Shahid Afridi, a member of the Pakistani team participating in the World Championship of Legends tournament, while talking to the media after the match against South Africa, said that no captain in the history of Pakistan got as many opportunities as Babar Azam got, otherwise it is our tradition. That the captain goes home first after poor form in the mega event.

The removal of Razzak and Wahab from the selection committee, the former cricketer said, was a move which was termed as a “surgery”. Honestly, this surgery is beyond my understanding. He led the Pakistani team but never got so many opportunities, even after getting so much, Babar Azam could not prove himself.

The statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq have been removed from the selection committee, now their services are not needed for the national team. He was a member of the Men’s Selection Committee during the Land and England tour.

On the other hand, no statement has been issued regarding the future of the other three members of the selection committee, Muhammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq and Bilal Afzal, on which questions are being raised. The decision of the board has come at a time when both Cricketers are busy playing Legends League tournament, in this tournament Pakistani team is on the top position by winning 4 out of 5 matches.
