The installation of ten modern passport printers in the Passport Department has been successfully completed, doubling the daily passport production capacity to 40,000 units.
According to DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the new machinery has significantly enhanced the department’s efficiency, helping address the backlog.
Speaking to the media, Qazi announced that daily passport production has increased from 20,000 to 40,000. He further shared that seven additional state-of-the-art printers are set to arrive at the passport headquarters soon, which will further optimize passport printing capabilities. In addition, two special printers dedicated to e-passport production have been procured to meet the rising demand for electronic passports.
