During mid-june, the number of active covd-19 had taken a rapid turn and reached up to 100,000. This was an alarming situation but as of now, the number of active coronavirus cases in Pakistan has come down to 17,799
Based on the reported data, the number of cases has remained even, if not declined, after the eid holidays span.
When compared to 5,740 new cases last week, Weekly new cases this week remained at 4,631. The number has come down by 19%.
It should also be considered that the number of new cases last week is likely to be under-reported due to Eid holidays since testing centers and hospitals had lesser shifts as compared to many shifts on usual days.
Even still, the count is still lower than previous weeks, providing an early indication that the disease is still under control and there has been no new rush in cases due to Eid.
