In yet another incident of violence against minorities in India, a Hindutva crowd in Ahmedabad violently assaulted a Muslim instructor.
Multiple individuals are shown attacking the teacher in front of police and reporters in a social media video that has gone viral.
Details indicate that the Muslim teacher was attacked because she had planned a performance on religious tolerance that featured Muslim prayers. According to the principal of the school, the event was planned to officially welcome a new Muslim student who had been accepted through an educational programme.
Later, the institution apologised and took down the program’s video from its social media accounts. Local officials have opened an investigation into the school rather than taking action against the crowd.
Violence against Muslims has dramatically increased in India since the start of Narendra Modi’s administration. A video of a Hindu teacher requesting that students slap a Muslim student recently went viral.
The school was closed by the authorities, and a case was also filed against the teacher, Tripta Tyagi.
