Following shocking allegations of rape and blackmail, authorities detained the principal of a private school in Karachi’s Gulshan-i-Hadeed neighbourhood, local police officials have revealed.

Nand Lal, the House Officer (SHO) at Steel Town police station, revealed on Monday that the school’s principal was detained after explicit videos of the alleged rape incidents spread widely online.

When a technician was repairing a CCTV camera at the principal’s school, he came across these disturbing videos. Following that, about 20–25 videos that shed light on the terrible situation were posted to social media.

The offender admitted to sexually assaulting women after luring them with the promise of employment and then recording the encounters to extort his victims, according to SHO Nand Lal.

After reportedly obtaining one of these damning videos, a man reportedly demanded Rs. 1 million in extortion from the school’s principal. The SHO withheld information regarding how the alleged extortionist got his hands on the video. The principal, however, had already made a request for action against the involved person at the Malir City Police Station.

Before any agreement could be reached between the two parties, the police intervened, resulting in the school principal’s arrest. Since none of the women who were allegedly victimised by him have yet approached the police, the state will file a first information report (FIR) against him.

Hassan Sardar, the senior superintendent of police in Malir, confirmed that 25 videos were found in the suspect’s possession and that five of the women who were allegedly assaulted have been identified.

The governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, immediately took notice of the terrible incident and asked the secretary of education for Sindh for a report. The governor urged the additional inspector general for Karachi to punish those found guilty with vigour.

Additionally, Riffat Mukhtar Raja, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Sindh, has taken a personal interest in the case and has asked the Malir SSP for comprehensive details. In order to bring justice to the victims, he has instructed the police to ensure a complete and objective investigation into the incident.
