The nuclear power plants of India and Pakistan are built along the coastline of northern Arabian Sea and according to a recent study, a major tsunami might be responsible for putting the plants in danger.
The study includes findings from investigation about the dangers and impacts the tsunami can have in both of the plants.
According to the findings, in the Makran subduction zone, there might be a possibility of a high magnitude of earthquake to happen. The magnitude can be from 8-9. If that happens, there will be strong Tsunami waves.
These Tsunami waves can bring a lot of damage to the nuclear plants of India and Pakistan.
Both countries have been notified by the researchers about the damage that can occur if any such disastrous event happened.
The damages cause by natural disasters such as tsunami or earthquake can prove to be far more dangerous and devastating for the plants.
A possible solution to at least reduce the damage might be building high sea walls all around to provide protection form sea waves to some extent.
